When I visit unfamiliar landscapes, I tend to find myself first bonding with the land. Not necessarily capturing photos, but merely spending time in the area watching how the sunlight moves across the land. How the shadows, clouds and land all play together. Exploring compositions in my mind. Ever willing to go around the next corner or over one more hill.
At times I may setup camp, spend time living on the land and never take a photograph. Getting lost in the beauty happens often. However, when all the elements of time, space and lighting come together, those are magical times for photography. Here in this gallery are some of those beautiful moments.
The feelings I collected during my stay are conveyed in the photographs. Wether I was feeling majestic, inspired or humbled. The mood behind the camera greatly influences what you see in front of the camera. That’s why bonding with the land is so important to me. It adds to the experience.
